Motor & Drive System

The Paddlewheel is actually propelling the paddle wheeler.

The Paddlewheel is chain driven from an 3 horse power electric DC motor with a continuous speed control in forward and reverse

The electric motor is powered either by an electric start  5000watt diesel generator or by a  Honda powered gasoline 11 hp/ 5000watt electric start generator. There is ample power for the lights and a PA system.

The Riverboat can be equipped with a bow thruster if it needs to navigate in tight quarters.
